This object lesson teaches about the new bodies we will get when Jesus comes again and we join Him in the new heaven and earth. It uses a simple science experiment that demonstrates how ultraviolet rays change the color of UV-sensitive beads and how medicine bottles block UV rays. In the lesson, the beads represent our spirit, and the bottles represent our earthly bodies (which keep our spirit from showing its full potential).

Materials

Color Changing UV Beads (available on www.amazon.com) – you will want enough so that each kid can have at least 8-10 beads.

Prescription medicine bottles (the translucent, brown type also available on www.amazon.com) – enough so that each kid can have one. (It’s preferable for the bottles to have lids that are not child-proof, since the kids will be opening and closing them on their own.)

Whiteboard, chalkboard or flipchart

Markers (one color for “Earthly Body” and one color for “Heavenly Body”)
