This game helps kids understand the importance of obedience for staying in God’s will. They will play a “Plinko-type” game in which they drop a disk through a series of pegs. The goal is to stay in the “Obedience” part of the board and avoid the “Sin” parts of the board.

  • Scriptures

    • Matthew 21:28-31a (first half of verse 31)

    Materials

    • Large piece of cardboard (about 4 ft tall and 3 ft wide)
    • Smaller strips of cardboard to create the sides and bottom of the board (2 pieces about 2-3 inches wide and 4 ft long and one piece about 2-3 inches wide and 3 ft long)
    • Round candy or mint containers to serve as pucks for the game (These are the candy containers that look like hockey pucks, e.g., “Ice Breakers” candy. Recommend having 3 containers.)
    • Coins, washers or some other type of metal object (9-12 pieces to put inside the pucks and give them weight)
    • Wooden skewers (100-110)
    • Wire-clipping pliers (to cut the backs off the skewers)
    • A ruler or tape measure
    • A pencil or marker
    • Masking tape or duct tape
    • Spray paint (red and white)
    • Straight edge to help you paint straight lines (A piece of cardboard or plywood will work.)
    • Signs at the end of this lesson
