This object lesson teaches kids to prioritize the things that are important to God. You will use a bucket to represent their lifetime and fill it with sand and rocks. The big rocks are the ones that are important to God. If kids do all the unimportant stuff first, there won’t be room for the big rocks. But if they will “seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness…all these things will be given to (them) as well.”

Materials
- 2 clear buckets of the same size
- Enough sand to fill one of the buckets about one-third of the way full
- Enough gravel to fill one of the buckets about one-third of the way full
- Cups or other types of containers to hold the sand and gravel
- 10 “fist-sized” rocks (TIP: Make sure that all the big rocks fit into one of the buckets without going over the top.)
- Masking tape and a marker to label the buckets and big rocks
