This object lesson teaches kids about the importance of generosity. It uses the metaphor of two large bodies of water in Israel: the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. The Sea of Galilee is full of life and passes its riches on to the Jordan River Valley. The Dead Sea, on the other hand, keeps everything it gets. It is rich in minerals, but there is almost no life in it. This illustrates how a generous person will continue to be blessed by God while a greedy person will not experience the full life that God intends for us.
