This lesson helps kids understand how wonderfully made our bodies are. Kids will spin a wheel labeled with different parts of the body. When the spinner stops, the leader (or a child who can read) will draw a card from the card pile for the body part the spinner lands on. Each card has an interesting and often amazing body fact on it.

    Materials

    • Printouts of the Wonderfully Made Cards (included at the end of this lesson)
    • Scissors or a paper cutter
    • Spinner wheel (sometimes called a “prize wheel” or “picker wheel” – It needs to have 10 wedges to correspond to the 10 sets of cards for different body parts.) You can supply this in a few different ways:
      • Buy one
      • Use an online version that allows you to plug in the labels for each of the 10 wedges
      • Create one online in an app like Canva
      • Build one (You can find video tutorials on YouTube.) You will need:
        • Cardboard for the wheel, the stand, a couple of “washers” for the center of the wheel, and the arrow
        • A cutting tool
        • A compass for drawing a circle on the cardboard
        • A ruler or straight-edge to draw your wedges
        • Glue
        • Two wooden skewers to hold your wheel and the arrow that shows which wedge the wheel stopped on to the stand
        • A short piece of a straw for the middle of the wheel to allow the skewer to turn freely inside of it
        • OPTIONAL: Colored paper for making different colored wedges
    • Marker or dry-erase marker (depending on whether your wheel has an erasable surface)
    • Bible
